How much oil does La produce?
More than nine billion barrels of oil have been produced in the Los Angeles area. There are still more than 30,000 active wells pumping around 230 million barrels of oil a year, making Los Angeles County the second most productive oil county in California.
How many oil refineries are in California?
California’s refineries are located in the San Francisco Bay area, Los Angeles area and the Central Valley. Each day approximately two million barrels (a barrel is equal to 42 U.S. gallons) of petroleum are processed into a variety of products, with gasoline representing about half of the total product volume.
Where does California get its oil from?
A network of crude oil pipelines connects California’s oil production to the state’s refining centers, which are located primarily in the Central Valley, the Los Angeles area, and the San Francisco Bay area.
